Zecharia Sitchin & His Discovery
Zecharia Sitchin was born on July 11, 1920, in Baku, Russia. Shortly after his birth, he moved with his family to what was then Palestine, where he would discover a love for the study of ancient Near Eastern languages. Throughout his well-traveled adult life, from Palestine to London and finally, New York, Sitchin would continue this love affair with ancient languages and civilizations, visiting numerous archaeological sites around the world whenever he had the time. Specifically, he would direct much of this love, and much of his focus, towards the ancient Sumerians.
The Sumerian civilization first emerged some 6,000 years ago in an area part of modern-day Iraq and Iran. Today, we know so much about them because they left behind a detailed record of their existence on millions of cuneiform tablets. Using his skills with the ancient language, Sitchin studied many of these tablets, taking a particular interest in those which spoke of the gods of Sumer, known as the Anunnaki.
While most believed that stories of the Anunnaki recorded in the ancient texts were little more than myth, Sitchin’s deep study led him to begin to take them more literally, as a historical record rather than allegory. In doing so, he came across what he believed was a mind-blowing story about human history.
The Arrival of the Anunnaki
The story, according to Sitchin, is as follows:
The Anunnaki were not gods but visitors who came to earth from the planet Nibiru some 445,000 years ago. They were not on vacation; they came to earth with a very specific purpose – to hunt for gold.
They first touched down in the Persian Gulf, led by half-brothers Enki and Enlil, where, over many years, they drained the marshes of the northern coast and created a vast irrigation system between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, founding a flourishing Anunnaki colony. During this time, they attempted to obtain the gold they had come for from under the waters of the Persian Gulf. But when this proved far too difficult, they were forced to up and move the entire operation to a place they knew was a gold hotspot – South Africa.
The Anunnaki's Human Creations
For over 100,000 years, they mined the area, extracting copious amounts of gold, until finally, the lower class Anunnaki who were tasked with working the mines, known as the Igigi, rebelled against their masters over the harsh working conditions.
Having lost their workforce but still wanting the gold, Enki and Enlil came up with a radical plan to replace the Igigi.
At that time, South Africa was home to primitive, human-like beings known as Homo Erectus. The Anunnaki decided that they would use genetic manipulation and in vitro fertilization to create from these primitive beings a species of slave workers for the mines. Accordingly, they took the egg of a primitive human-like female and fertilized it with the sperm of an Anunnaki male, then placed the fertilized egg in the womb of an Anunnaki female.
The offspring would be called “Adamu” – the “first man.”
In conducting this procedure, the Anunnaki genetically upgraded Homo Erectus, bestowing upon them the intelligence to work the mines, skipping millions of years of evolution as Homo Erectus became homo sapiens overnight. However, the Anunnaki were looking for compliant workers for their mines, not a self-conscious species capable of competing with them, so they inserted genetic barriers which prevented the Adamu from utilizing the full powers and capabilities of the human brain.
When they were first created, the Adamu were given a lifespan of some 70,000 years. However, in the timeline of the Anunnaki, this was not long enough; their slaves were dying faster than the Anunnaki could create new ones. So, Enki came up with another brilliant plan. By again manipulating the genetic code of the Adamu, Enki made reproduction possible between two humans. From the genetic material of the Adamu, Enki created a human woman.
Because humans could now reproduce, their life cycle was shortened from 70,000 years to something more like what it is today. Still, breeding humans quickly became so numerous that they were expelled from the Anunnaki cities of South Africa, at which point they spread across the globe, founding the human civilizations which exist today.
Could this story really be possible? Could everything we know about human history, about evolution, really be wrong? It’s worth noting that the ancient texts of the Sumerians may not be the only place this story is recorded…
The Anunnaki Creation Story and the Bible
Consider the biblical story of Adam and Eve.
There, Adam is created by God, the first man, much like the Anunnaki’s Adamu. Eve is then created from Adam’s rib, much like the Anunnaki’s human woman is created from the genetic material of the Adamu.
Think about Adam and Eve being forbidden to eat fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Does this not sound like the Anunnaki’s humans being given genetic barriers to prevent them from realizing their full intelligence? Think about Adam and Eve being expelled from the Garden of Eden before they could eat fruit from the tree of life. Does this not sound like the Anunnaki reducing the life spans of their humans when they gave them the ability to procreate? And when Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden, does this not sound like the Anunnaki’s humans being expelled from Anunnaki cities after they began to procreate?
Could the biblical story of Adam and Eve really just be a retelling of the Sumerian story of the Anunnaki, the true story of human origins?
It is interesting to note that African tribes call the deity which created humanity Enkai, perhaps a translation of the Anunnaki’s Enki. Further, the Adam’s Calendar site, which seems in modern times to be the center of a massive ancient civilization hundreds of thousands of years old, is known to local tribes as “Inzalo y’Langa“ – “the birthplace of the sun” – the place where “heaven mated with mother earth,” that is, the place where humanity was created by the gods.
It seems that the ancient Sumerian story of the Anunnaki is repeating itself in the myths of others.
But in fact, it goes beyond mere myth…
DNA Evidence of Anunnaki Connection
If the first human beings really were created by crossbreeding between aliens called the Anunnaki, and primitive humans called Homo Erectus, then surely this would be recorded in our DNA today.
In fact, it very well might be.
Just look at the seminal Human Genome Project, which brought together the best scientists from all over the world between 1990-2003 in an effort to map the entire DNA sequence of the human genome. Stunningly, the project found that 97% of human DNA had “no apparent function.” This did not make sense. If 97% of DNA had no “function,” then it could not be explained by evolution. So why was it there? And how did it get there? One Human Genome Project researcher had an answer,
“We have to come to grips with the unbelievable notion that every life on earth carries genetic code for his extraterrestrial cousin. Our hypothesis is that a higher extraterrestrial life form was engaged in creating new life.”
In other words, maybe human beings were created by aliens. Maybe our extraterrestrial cousin is the Anunnaki.
There is more, though. In 2010, a study published in Theoretical Population Biology journal confirmed that humanity’s “Мitochondrial Еve” lived about 200,000 years ago. “Mitochondrial Eve” is a scientific term for the first female genetic ancestor of a species, that is, the most recent female from which all living members of a species can trace their ancestry, “the peak of a genealogical pyramid.”
So, in other words, science has now proven that the woman we are all descended from existed right at the time the ancient Sumerian texts tell us the Anunnaki were creating human women. Is this merely a coincidence? Or is it really possible that human beings were a genetic experiment conducted by aliens to create a species of slave mine workers?
There is another question that can be asked here. If the Anunnaki created human beings as slave workers to mine gold, why? Why did they want gold so badly?
The Anunnaki's Obsession With Gold
According to Zecharia Sitchin, the Anunnaki used gold for a very specific purpose – they ground it up into a fine powder and suspended it in the atmosphere around their planet in order to protect it from cosmic rays. In his words,
“On their planet Nibiru […] ecological deterioration was making life increasingly impossible. There was a need to protect their dwindling atmosphere, and the only solution seemed to suspend gold particles above it, as a shield.”
Interestingly, modern science has begun to explore a similar idea to deal with our own ‘ecological deterioration.’ In 2016, the US National Energy Technology Laboratory conducted a study that conceived and developed a new process that used gold nanoparticles to convert CO2 into usable chemicals and fuels. Researchers believed their breakthrough was the first step in developing an industrial-scale way to reduce carbon emissions using gold and save a ‘dwindling atmosphere.’
As this type of thinking became a possibility, science began to seriously discuss the possibility of “terraforming” other planets like Mars, that is, engineering them to be more earth-like and thus more conducive to human colonization. In 2017, NASA even presented a way to make Mars more habitable by giving it an artificial magnetic field, which would protect humans from cosmic radiation and bring back the Red Planet’s ancient oceans. Today, terraforming Mars has now become a favorite subject of tall foreheads like Elon Musk.
Could it be that the Anunnaki were using the gold mined from earth to do something similar to their own dying planet?
Intergalactic Anunnaki Empire?
Perhaps there is another, more sinister reason that the Anunnaki were desperate for gold.
Every year, we learn more about how crucial gold is to advanced technology. Gold is vital to many modern electronics as a highly efficient, pliable conductor that doesn’t corrode. It is used in everything from smartphones and computers to GPS and beyond.
But where gold is most crucial is in aerospace technology. During space travel, gold holds up better than other earth metals like silver and copper, which quickly tarnish. It is used as a lubricant between mechanical parts in the vacuum of space instead of oil, which evaporates quickly in extreme temperatures. Further, gold is used to reflect solar radiation in order to stabilize the core temperate of space vehicles. Without gold, the colored parts of a spacecraft would absorb significant cosmic heat and radiation, making human space travel impossible. This is why space vehicles and satellites are outfitted with a thin gold film and why even the visors of astronauts’ space helmets are coated with gold.
Most simply, gold makes space travel and modern technology possible.
So, take a step back. The story recounted by Sitchin is that the Anunnaki came to earth to mine gold because they needed it to repair the atmosphere of their planet. But maybe that’s just the story the Anunnaki told to make themselves sound justified in their conquest. Maybe they lied; the atmosphere story just a clever piece of colonial propaganda. Maybe they actually needed gold to fuel their advanced intergalactic empire… and created humans as slaves to get it.
The Disappearance of the Anunnaki
It might be asked, what happened to the Anunnaki? If they came to earth for gold, where did they go? Earth still has gold; do they not need it anymore? Maybe they do, but perhaps now they get it in a different way.
According to the ancient Sumerian texts, much of the newly created human population was wiped out in the cataclysmic flood event recorded in the bible and many other human traditions. After the flood, the Anunnaki founded the Sumerian civilization before returning to their home planet to watch and control humans from afar.
Perhaps this continues to this day; perhaps humans, as we have been since the beginning, are still slaves.
One person who believes this to be the case is Michael Tellinger. He asserts that “all the governments in the world are puppets and instruments to implement the will of a small group of individuals” and further, that “the offspring of the Anunnaki are most likely the majority of the global elite that control our planet today.”
The Importance of Gold in Human Society
Whether or not this is true, it is interesting to note how important gold has been to human beings for the entirety of our history. Truly, you can’t separate human origins from our obsession for gold. It was the first metal mentioned in the bible, in Genesis Chapter 2, and since Sumerian times, it has been used as a store of value and medium of exchange. In fact, the modern global economic system was built on gold, which long backed all units of paper currency in circulation.
Why was something which for so long was little more than a shiny metal assigned such value, shaping economics and empires, directing human history.
Perhaps our obsession with gold is actually the Anunnaki’s obsession.
Are we slaves then?
